5 months old!

Our sweet Angel Malin is 5 months old already!  We now know her and love her for the amzing little person she is and her incredibly calm and patient disposition.  Sometimes we just can't believe what a good baby she is.  So good in fact, that Daddy was even able to take her along to his last PT appointment.  She just hung out in her carseat quietly, watched Daddy work, and had all the women cooing over her.

A few firsts for Malin this month: she had her first boat ride.  The first roar of the engine scared her but after Mommy calmed her down and the noise no longer bothers her.  She ate solid foods for the first time.  Just like big sis we started with avocado and have also switched in some rice cereal.  She's a great little eater, but still has the more slender figure just like Avery did... and does.  On her 4 month birthday she went for her first swim in the pool of the hotel.  She had her first sleep over at Aunt Jess & Uncle Mike's house and slept great!  And this last weekend she had her first baby sitting adventure outside of immediate family, when Mommy & Daddy got to go to the M's game with Diana & Anthony while Di's Mom Kathleen & 3 friends watched our 3 kids.  We measured her last night and she comes in at 28" long.

Malin still has quite a Mommy attachment, but we're working on that.  And honestly, I don't mind it, I know it will pass.  She is the best little cuddler, and when I get my hands on her, she gets super excited and burries her face in my chest.  And we have a bit of an attachment to her too. Though her room is completely ready for her: bed set up, curtains up, mobile & lulliby lamb on stand-by, and camera ready to track her every move, we still have her in her bassinet in our room. She's a pretty peaceful sleeper, and sleeps a solid 10-12 hours at night with one breakfast drink at 5:30AM.  We'll get there someday. :)

She has the sweetest smile, but nobody gets as big of a smile from her as Avery does. Malin thinks Avery is the coolest person on the planet, and will giggle with delight even if Avery's being rough with her.  I love to see the admiration in her eyes for her big sister.  I hope that never goes away.  Malin even tries to keep up with her sister's chatty ways (good luck Malin, Avery is a Chatty Cathy!).  She's been screetching and squeeling and has gotten pretty loud, sometimes tickling her throat & making her cough.

According to Nana, Malin has rolled once from her front to back, but we've yet to see any follow up acts.  We're still waiting.  She prefers to stand up and is a huge fan of her new jumperoo.

Andy and I have completely fallen for this sweet, adorable angel.  We're so lucky to have her in our lives.  She is truley a blessing to our family.  Here's our sweet, beautiful baby girl.

Camera Happy

You know you take too many pictures when you're going through them to organize and you find this gem that went over-looked until now!

My beautiful Angel.  (Malin, 10 weeks old)

May catch-up

Here's what we've been up to in May - aside from my babies growing up. :)  Phew, it was a busy month!

We closed out April with Madeline's Christening.
We had lots of cuddle time.  I love the one of Andy and the girls in Avery's bed.  I know I have a few like that from when I was a kid.
The Klissers were in town for Avery's birthday party and we we got to throw KK her baby shower... finally!  I got in some Henley cuddle time.
The next weekend was Mother's Day.  We got to spend it with my Mommy and my Oma.
And we had a Hunt birthday party for Avery in a Mariner's suite.
Nana and Avery met another Grandma/3-year-old Granddaughter duo at a park in Snoqualmie.  They now have playdates every Wednesday.  So cute!
Avery kept asking to go to Chuck E. Cheeses thanks to the commercials.  So, after she successfully mastered going #2 on the potty, she earned herself a trip.  Our friends the Graziers came along with us.  It sure isn't the same place I remember as a kid in the 80's.
Memorial Day weekend we took a short trip up to Bellingham to check out our old college stomping grounds.  (Despite the bridge collapse in Mt. Vernon).  We ate at my favorite diner, Calophon Cafe, stopped by Boulevard Park (where Andy proposed 8 years ago), walked around WWU campus and swam back at the hotel.  I'm celebrating 10 years since my college graduation this June, wow that went fast!  Avery got in on the action too.
The boat is now on the water on Lake Sammamish so this summer the blog will be filled with LOTS of pictures of the girls having fun in the sun!

4 Months

Last weekend our little MaeMae turned 4 months old!  She is such a joy in our lives.  She's very even-tempered, no extreme highs or lows.  (Though if she's tired, she's not afraid to belt out a few good cries).  She's grown quite fond her fingers, shoving as many in her mouth as possible at a time, but her favorite is her thumb.  She also has grown a big attachment to Sophie the Giraffe.  I'm not sure if that means she's starting to teeth or not - so far nothing poking out of her gums.  She loves to be held and just sit back and watch - usually big sister's antics.

Malin is Avery's biggest fan, she thinks Avery is hilarious!  It's so cute, when Avery laughs at her, Malin laughs right back.  (Avery occasionally proclaims that Malin is her best friend - so sweet!)  She's trying to keep up with her chatty sister too, she's been "talking" to us alot lately.  When she really gets going we know she's about to get upset.  She's suddenly gorwn a big attachment to Mommy and is starting to show stranger anxiety.  Just in the last week she won't let anyone other than her core 3 caretakers hold her.

She's a good little eater, but her 4 month check-up stats put her right where Avery was.  Malin comes in at 14lbs and 26" long.  She has the cutest rolly thighs that I can't get enough of.

Malin has also become quite the kisser.  Though I think she'd rather eat your face than kiss it.  It's pretty cute and Avery gets a big kick out of it.  Malin is such a sweet, easy-going, beautiful baby girl and our family is now complete with her in it.

Meanwhile, big sister Avery has become quite the little lady.  She's been such a big helper, helping out with baby and putting things away.  She loves to help fold laundry and she folds burp rags better than I do!  She likes to ask us about our day now and tells us all kinds of tales about her day.  (Most are tall tales). Her stories crack me up, because just about ever 4th word is like.  My little Valley Girl.  She's obsessed with "Big Monsters," running from them, talking about them, and acting like them.  She's also very into the Princesses - her favorite being Cinderella, and loves to dress up and dance like a princess.  She has energy to spare, and keeps us on our toes going from extreme highs to extreme lows in the blink of an eye.  Her huge heart continues to amaze me, she truly cares about her loved ones and cuddles and helps out to make sure they are always ok.

I don't know how I'd get through 1 day without these 2 precious little girls in my life!
