Snow Days

Today we are finally seeing the snow melt from a week of Winter Wonderland in Washington. We don't get snow very often, especially in Bellevue, but this year we got hit hard! Avery and I cozied up and took refuge in the condo for 3 days straight. Daddy had to venture into work 1 day, but we were able to play in the almost 6" of snow on Wednesday.

Avery throwing snowballs at Daddy.
Our walk back from the grocery store and park.
The park is so much more fun with snow!
On Friday, Daddy was home so we got to go to music class and play at the mall. Phew, Avery and I needed that!
And Saturday we cheered on the Huskies. We're feeling a cheerleading scholarship in our future, Avery loves dancing with the cheerleaders at timeouts!
I got lots of cuddle time with my little munchkin this week, now this Mama is ready to get back to work! Hopefully the next time we see snow we will be skiing in the mountains. :)

Cousins & Snow!

Last weekend we headed down to Olympia for the annual Fondue party with the Hunts & Panush's. (We missed the last couple of years). Avery was super excited to see her cousins and Grandma & Grandpa. She plays so well with her cousins, we love to get them together as much as possible. There was a hint of snow in the air as we headed over for the party.

Here are the cute Hunt(Ruhl) kids. I missed the 3 seconds that they were all actually sitting down.Avery chased Nolan around giving him hugs. I don't think he was as into it. So cute!
Eating a meal (3 bites for Peanut Avery) at the Panush's "mansion" as Braden called it.
Avery got in on the action tackling Uncle Mike.
I love this, favorite picture of the night. Avery is really into kisses right now. Adorable!
Sunday morning we left a winter wonderland in Olympia and to our surprise, North Bellevue actually had snow too! We got about 3-4 inches!
Avery still fits in her snow suit from last year (it's size 6-12 months...) This year Avery actually likes the snow.
We made snow balls and snow angles.
Avery thought the snow was also tasty.
It looks like we are in for a week of snow so this little snow bunny will get lots of playtime!

New Years in Leavenworth

We spent New Year's weekend in Leavenworth with our very good friends Kristen and Greg - the Klissers! We packed the truck up to the brim and headed out Friday. There were warnings about traveling on the passes but we had no issues or traffic either way. This was the Klisser's first trip to Leavenworth and our first trip outside of Oktoberfest. The lights were still up and there was snow on the ground, so pretty!

First stop: Gustav's for some beer & brats!
Unfortunately Avery has taken a liking to beer - well all drinks that belong to Mommy and Daddy. We couldn't keep her hands & straw out of them!
We rented a condo just on the West end of the village, it was great!
For dinner we walked to King Lidwig's - one of our favorite places to eat during Oktoberfest due to the music & dancing. A little different without the large crowds and us not in costume.

Cheers!
Avery got down to the music though. She loves to dance!
"Uncle Greg, may I have this dance?"
Walking back after dinner. So pretty out!
Ah, my KK!
And had a pajama party when we got back. Avery's pj's were in theme.
Kisses from Auntie KK.
Saturday morning the boys woke up early and headed to Steven's Pass for some snow skiing. The mountains got some fresh snow, lucky boys!
The girls lounged around the condo, and after Avery's long (and much needed) nap, we headed into town for some wine tasting.
Until Daddy picked us up.
Avery had a very intense conversation on Mommy's phone with Uncle Greg. (Who was sitting on the other side of the living room).
On Sunday we went to the Sleeping Lady for breakfast. They have a fantastic organic buffet. And, it snowed over night so we had fresh snow to play in. This year Avery thinks snow is pretty cool, especially in her new Uggs.
Bye-bye Leavenworth, thanks for a great weekend!
I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve! Here's to a prosperous and happy 2012 for us all!
