Beach Baby

Summer's finally here and Avery is ready to catch some rays! Here was our first trip to the condo pool 2 weekends ago when we actually got some sun. Don't worry, she was under shade the whole time. And since she's become a needy baby, that meant laying on Mommy's stomach with a blanket over her. We're hoping she got Mommy's skin but we're slowly testing that one out. I've been dying to get her in this itty bitty suit and it's still a bit big on her!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! This Father's Day is a special one for us this year since it's Andy's first. He definitely deserves the recognition, Andy is such an incredible Dad. Avery is so lucky to have such a great Dad, he's taken off lots of time from work to be home with her, getting lots of quality time together. He gets up with her at night every time she cries and changes her diaper and then I feed her. Andy genuinely loves his little girl, I love seeing him with her. I have an amazing hubby.

Happy Father's Day to our great Dads too. We're very lucky to have 2 Dads in our lives who have given us examples on how to be good parents. Avery gets to have both of her grandpas in her life and gets to see both of them pretty regularly, what a lucky girl.

Avery got to spend time with her Daddy before he left for work on Sunday and then got to see her Opa and Great Opa to wish them happy Father's Day too. We love you Dads!

Cousin Nolan's Arrival

Nolan Lee Ruhl born June 15th at 2:05. 8 lbs 13 oz, 21.5 inches. Congratulations Jess & Mike & big brother Braden!

1 Month Old

Avery is one month old today! I can't believe it's been a month already that this sweet little girl has been in our lives. She is such a blessing, I can't imagine our life without her now.

We've already noticed some changes in her, though she's still a tiny girl. Today she weighs 7 lbs, 14 oz (up 12 oz from birth), and is 21 inches long (up 2 inches from birth). She's still a tiny angel, but she's getting stronger, able to control her head better than before. The doctor has always been impressed by how she's been able to hold her head up but now she can control it continuously when being held up. She's spent more hours of the day with her eyes open, which we love because she's so darn cute and alert when she's awake. She still only sleeps in 2 hour increments at night, but we're working on that.

Mommy went back to work on a part-time basis yesterday, but she's in good hands with Dad who's also working part-time this month. Avery's a very lucky girl to have such a wonderful Dad who loves spending time with her. She's had lots of visits with her Nana, Opa, Grandma Grandpa, and aunties. She's a lucky girl to have so many people who love her so much.

Happy one month birthday baby girl, Mommy and Daddy love you more than we could have ever imagined.
