Remembering Grandma Hunt

On Friday we attended the memorial for Andy's Grandma, LenaMae who passed away last week. We are so fortunate that we all got to spend so much time with her, and Avery too. We have very fond memories of her. She will be missed.
Fortunately, all the Hunts got to get together and spend some quality time. We spent the next few days playing at Grandma & Grandpa's.The Hunt (Ruhl) kids.
The Hunt clan.
Dance party!
Lounging.
Then we went to the pumpkin patch in Arlington. Who's the silly girl wearing her city boots out in the mud?!
Avery was a little cranky.
Walking through the corn maze. We didn't get lost and I didn't slip in the mud, success!
Grandma & Grandpa with the kids.

Grunt Time

Last Friday we had our good friends, the Graziers over for dinner. (We call the 4 of us the Grunts. Grazier + Hunt = Grunt). Avery got to spend some quality time with them after she warmed up. Check out their story time.
Margie and Scott are expecting a baby in December. Avery is so excited to ahve a play mate!
Ah, so cute!
Thanks Margie and Scott for playing with us! We can't wait to meet baby Grazier in a couple months!

Sleepy Husky

Husky home game #4. We went to the game with Grandma & Papa. The weather has officially changed to fall, we went from summer clothes to winter clothes in a hurry. Avery's poor little hands were freezing during our tailgating festivities. Good thing her mittens happened to be in the diaper bag! And, another Husky victory!

Avery and Grandma tailgating.
Watching the game with Papa outside the Don James Center.
Avery is very relaxed with Papa, can you tell? She slept through all that cheering.
After the Husky game, we traveled over to Edmonds for Avery's 3rd cousins' Jackson & Tate's 3rd & 1st birthday party. There were LOTS of kids for Avery to play with (Avery is #7 of 9 kids on the Greene side alone), so after her initial shyness wore off she was off causing mischief along with the boys.
Ann rescuing baby Emma from the present madness.
Me and birthday boy Tate. He's such a cutie!
Avery hanging out with Cousin Bryan.
Singing Happy Birthday and Erin's amazing home-made train cakes.
Avery and Tate playing together. (She is wearing a skirt, I swear!)
Sunday was back to Kent for barn weekend #3. We're getting so close! Check out this sunset, pretty amazing.
And Avery splashed in the bathtub after dinner.
On Mondays I work from home and we make it a point not to leave the house (so Mommy can be a la naturale) so I get to spend every waking hour with my little stinker. Since she loves to do exactly what Mommy does, she works along side me on her computer too. Here she is putting in some hard work. She cracks me up!

Hard At Work

We had a fun-filled Saturday - Andy went to the Sounders game with some friends and then met up with me and all my KM buddies (even the Klissers!) for Margie's 30th birthday bash at the Parlor. (I got to have some quality time with my bf Kristen last week who was here unfortunately for the loss of her Grandma). We had so much fun, we danced the night away like college kids. Even Margie, who is 7 months pregnant stayed out with us until close! Thank you to Nana, Opa and Aunty Nan for taking care of our little muchkin. She had a great time too and it made our Sunday morning wake up a little easier. :) Unfortunately, my little camera has died so I didn't get any pictures.

Sunday was barn construction weekend #2 at the Hermans casa. Here are a couple pictures to show our work.

Mom sawing away at the debris pile.
Dad working on the support beams for the overhang.
Here's Nana's "little" roof repair project that has turned into a complete over-haul. Good thing too, that barn was pretty unstable, a couple good winds would have put that baby into the pasture!
Still Dad's little helper. Doing the new construction is fun! And, I didn't lose any fingers or hair! (I did however, smack Dad in the nose with a 2x4 pretty good. Sorry for the bump & bruise Dad!)
Her heiness, Princess Avery stays inside while we are working on the barn. Since I didn't capture any pictures of her playing with Aunty and her favorite "Arf-Arf" (dog) Dre, here are some of her hanging out at the condo in her sweatsuit and ponytail. I wish I looked this cute when lounging around the house!

Oma & Opa's Anniversary Dinner

Last weekend we celebrated my Oma & Opa's 62nd wedding anniversary at Anthony's in Des Moines. 62 years, what a feat, especially for 2 immigrants from Holland & Indonesia who survived WWII, Japanese Prison camps, a long rocky boat ride to the US, making their way across the United States and raising 2 Dutch kids! :) Thank you to Oma and Opa for being the rock that holds the Hermans family together, we love you!

2 Opas! Opa and Grote Opa.
The whole Hermans clan.
Avery working it with Nana and Grote Oma.
My favorite women.
Avery loves her Aunty Nan.
Avery is so sweet, she's gotten into giving kisses. In this case, she let her bear from Oma take the mustache kiss from Opa.
Great Aunty Myra.
The Hermans sisters. Did we really come from the same parents? :)
On Saturday Andy, Avery and I spent the day in Kent helping Nana & Opa fix their barn. It was quite a project. I wish we had gotten some pictures, we were dirty and styling and Mommy got down with some hard-core construction. (Power tools are just for boys!) A very Hermans weekend, and achy bones after-wards!
