Monkey See...

Avery is really starting to copy things she sees Mommy and Daddy do. It's pretty funny. A couple weeks ago Andy was standing on our balcony with her and spit. 3 seconds later Avery spit just like Daddy. Her favorite thing to do is be on the phone. She loves our iPhones and even knows how to scroll on it. We gave her 2 of our old flip phones to play with and she loves them - she walks around the house with them up to her ear chatting away. So cute. If you didn't already see this, here is Avery on an important phone call at Emerald Downs. Silly girl.

Father's Day Weekend

We had a busy Father's Day weekend. Friday night Andy went to the Mariner's game with friends and Anvery & I went to see my co-workers new baby girl. I played paparazzi and got a ton of cute pictures of her. Then Saturday we headed down to Olympia for Avery's cousin Nolan's 1st birthday! Here are the 2 cousins.
Playing on Grandpa - aka the Jungle Gym.

Avery thinking she was a big shot while Grandpa pushed her.

She also was a dare devil on the slide - we couldn't get her off of it.

The big kids let the babies have a turn in the bounce house.

Until Avery had enough.

Cake time! Nolan ate his cake like a good boy. Difference between boys and girls I guess.

The birthday boy, isn't he a cutie?!

The Dads and their kids. (Andy & Avery, Mike & Braden & Nolan, Charlie & Katie & Emily)

The Hunt cousins. They weren't cooperating with our photo op.

After the party we headed back up to Seattle to watch the Mariners in Diamond Club (thanks Grandpa!) with Avery's buddy Vail and her parents Jen & Theo.

On Sunday we met the Hunt crew at Emerald Downs. The weather wasn't as nice as we were hoping but it was still fun.

Happy Father's Day Andy!

Avery and Nolan playing chase.

The we went over to Nana & Opa's for dinner. A rare event: both parents Hermans and Hunts together. Avery thought it was great, all her favorite people in one place!

Thanks for a great meal Opa and Nana!

We hope everyone had a great Father's Day as well. We got to spend alot of time with the people we are most grateful for: our parents. A very Happy Father's Day to Dad Hermans and Dad Hunt!

Our Big Walker

My 13-month old baby is a big girl now. She's ditched crawling and walks everywhere now. It's so cute. She's so proud of herself too. We had a little photoshoot when we got home tonight, she was working it for the camera. Here's my big girl in all her walking glory.
Uh oh, somebody found the door knob...
Action shot - on her way down from a fall.
Bye bye Mommy!

Avery is Walking!

It's official - after a month or more of scooting chairs, holding fingers and stepping between Mommy & Daddy, Avery is now walking all by herself! She starting cruising solo this weekend and now thinks she's a real hot-shot walking all over the condo. She's since had the expected falls and resulting bumps and bruises, but she's a tough kid for the most part.

I can't believe my baby is walking. I guess that solidifies it, Avery is now a TODDLER. :( How cute is she though?!

Way to go sweetie, Mommy & Daddy are so proud of you! And the chase begins!

Puerto Vallarta!

Last week we got to relax and play in the warm Mexican sun in Puerto Vallarta. We were there for 6 days, and had a great time. This vacation was much needed and very much appreciated - it was mine and Andy's first week-long destination vacation since our honeymoon - 5 years ago! The weather was great, around 90 degrees with high humidity. We tried to just relax by the water with a margarita in hand as much as possible. We learned that vacationing with a baby is not exactly relaxation, but Avery slept very well, probably from the heat. Here are some highlights from our vacation.

Our resort. We loved it, everyone was very friendly and it was really cozy. Right up to the beach.
Avery and I swam with the dolphins. Avery loved it as long as that fish didn't try to kiss her. :)
My bathing beauty. That kid knows how to work it!
Avery was scared of the crashing waves so she didn't play in the sand.
Working it in her bikini. (Yes, she had a bathing suit for every day +).
The last night in PV, at a fiesta.
Getting cleaned up to head back home.
Being "crazy baby" with the tables she loved to push around.
