Here Come the Chompers

I regret to announce that my sweet little Avery has begun the process of getting her teeth. We've been expecting it for a little while - with all the drool and hands constantly in her mouth, but this last Sunday sealed the deal with the frequent melt-downs and bottle intolerance. Poor baby. Avery and I spend Sundays at Nana and Opa's while Daddy is at work, so they got to witness this new behavior. She'll go from our usually sweet, smiley girl to a screaming monster in the blink of an eye. Here were some of her better moments on Sunday.

She loves to flash the undies when wearing a dress. That's my little lady! Hanging out in Nana's patriotic room.
Opa "rescued" her from her nap. Avery and Opa were having a great time snooping through Mommy's phone.
Tummy time. All she needs is a pair of leg warmers and she's ready for a Jane Fonda workout!
Good thing you're cute kid! (And your parents and grandparents and aunties... worship you!) Wish us lots of luck for our 5 hour flight to Philly next week...

Our Little Sports Fan

We had quite the sports-filled weekend last weekend. Friday evening (after giving Daddy a hard time all day), we went to Avery's 2nd Mariner's game - in the Diamond Club again. (Thanks Grandpa!!!) We invited Aunty Nan and Anthony, and Aunty Nan was LOVING the all you can eat and drink. :) And guess what, the Mariners actually won the game! Amazing!

Our feast before the game:
My little Teddy Bear cheering on the M's.
Then on Saturday we left the house early and headed for Husky stadium for Avery's first Husky football game. It was quite an adventure with a (teething) 4 month old. We took the bus over, tailgated with friends and watched the whole game. Avery did a pretty good job. We we unprepared for the blazing sun though - we were dressed for rain that Steve Pool told us was coming and our seats were in the front row of the second section - in direct sun. We were hot sweaty messes when we got home.
Tailgating with Daddy before the game.
Daddy got cut out of the picture. The lady we asked to take it was having technical difficulties.
At one point Avery actually fell asleep. We borrowed an umbrella so she was under shade.
My little chunky monkey. Notice all the red in the stands?! Yeah, Nebraska fans are very loyal, and for good reason. They beat up on the poor Huskies.

Thanks for taking us to the game Daddy! (Though I don't think we'll be getting another invite from Husky die-hard fan Daddy real soon.) :)

4 Month Check-up

Avery had her 4 moth check up this morning. Doctor is very happy with her growth and thinks she's a very healthy baby. She weighs 13 lbs 10 oz (now in the 50th percentile), and is 24 1/2" long (60th percentile).

She got 2 shots today, 1 less than last time and did really well! (Mommy may have cried more than she did). She's having a hard day today though, not feeling very well. Our normally happy, chatty, smiley baby is tired and sad today. When she's not doing this:

She's doing this:

Poor baby :( Good thing Mommy works from home on Mondays and can take care of the little angel.

Happy Grandparents Day!

Yesterday was Grandparents Day, very appropriate for our week since Avery got LOTS of grandparent time in! Andy went hunting for 5 days up in Alberta with his Dad and friends so Avery and I filled our alone time with family.

Avery is a very lucky girl to have all of her grandparents in her life weekly. She loves them all very much. Andy and I are very grateful to have them around and for all the love and support they give us with this little munchkin.

Happy Grandparents Day Nana, Opa, Grandma, Grandpa, Great Oma, Great Opa, Great Grandma, Great Nana and Great Papa!

Grandma stayed with us Thursday through Saturday. Thanks for keeping us company!
We spent the night at Opa and Nana's on Saturday night. Avery and Opa got to bond a little more. :)

We didn't get a picture with Grandpa since he was hunting with Daddy and Nana has lots of pics with Avery already. We love you Grandparents!

4 Months Old

Yesterday was Avery's 4 month birthday! It's hard to believe this little angel has been in our lives for 4 months already. She's changed so much in that time - just when you think she's got a ton of personality she does something new to make you laugh. She's such a little diva, she cracks me up with her dirty looks and loud cries for attention. Even her yawns are dramatic, she makes a loud "Ahhh" sound when yawning - mostly when she's in her car seat. She's started a fake cough too to let everyone knows she's in the room still. Andy thinks it's due to her high-pitch squeels when she's being a chatty Cathy. She can also give the biggest smiles which melts your heart. And she's become enamored with the baby staring back at her in her mirror in the truck. My favorite new habbit of hers is licking her Sophie giraffe, it makes me laugh every time. Her favorite toy is her little burp rags which she loves to wad up in her face and try to eat.

I never thought I'd see the day, but Avery has become a great sleeper! She sleeps great in her crib at night wrapped tight in her miracle blanket - though most mornings we find her with her arms poking out the top. She sleeps so well we usually have to wake her up for her mid-night (3AM ish) feed. Thank the Lord! She's working on sitting up, though her head usually makes her fall forward - must be all those brains. :) She's started to laugh too, usually at night when she's tired and rummy, it's so cute. She will sometimes give kisses to Mommy when I leave for work in the morning, which is more like her trying to eat my cheek, but I love it! We've tried a couple food items, just off our finger for fun and she's a big fan of ice cream.

Her 4 month check-up is next week - which means more shots and more tears for Avery & Mommy. She's really started filling out so it will be fun to see how much she weighs now.

Here are a few shots from her birthday photoshoot yesterday: (she wasn't really in picture mood)

Does this count as sitting up?

She loves to show off her 6 pack when she has dresses on. Such a lady!
Mom & I couldn't resist taking a couple naked shots after her bath. She thought Nana making her Harry dog bark was hilarious!I can't wait to see what's to come from this little girl! She brings so much joy to our lives. It's hard to ever be in a bad mood when you're around her, she just makes you smile. We love you so much sweet girl!

Go Dawgs!

Last weekend was the Huskies football season opener so in true Jenn fashion we broke out a couple of her Husky outfits and had a photoshoot with her new Harry the Husky dog. Avery and I met up with Daddy at the Gas Lamp in Issaquah and cheered on the Huskies with a packed house of fans. Unfortunately our cheers didn't work, they lost last weekend but we'll get 'em next week boys!

Here's my little Husky:

Avery wouldn't keep her slipper on so we let Harry wear some of her gear.

Giddey-up Harry!
