We took Avery to see Santa at BellSquare on Wednesday. (We took Nana too since she's usually a sure bet for big smiles). Avery was very lively and curious of Santa's Workshop as we waited in line, and was very smiley. Then she saw Santa. She was really good, she didn't make any motions toward crying, just didn't really want much to do with the big guy. She was looking back at all the shoppers in the mall, and pretty much annoyed that the two Santa's helpers were going out of their way shaking a Cookie Monster at her and making silly noises to get her to smile.
We got 2 descent shots. This one cracks me up, classic Avery. "Yes Santa, I've been good, back off!"
This was the best smile we could get out of her. Looks pretty forced but hey, it's not a frown and she's putting in a little effort!
All in all it was a great first Santa experience! I think Santa put Avery on the Nice list this year. :)
