Hunt Family Pics

In late July, we had family pictures taken in Carillon Point in Kirkland.  They actually turned out pretty well, though Avery doesn't like sharing the spotlight with us and only smiled in her solo shots. :)  Here are our favorites.

8 Months Old

The months are just flying by, our little MaeMae is already 8 months old!  Andy and I hate letting our tiny baby go, but Malin is becoming such a fun, sweet baby with her own personality.  It's fun to see how different our girls are as they get older, and also to see their bond with each other grow.  Malin can now sit on the floor and legitimately play with her sister.  Avery's favorite game to play with little sis; however, is tackle.  Little Malin is a tough cookie, no matter how much Avery dishes, Malin takes it all in stride laughing all the way.  She thinks her big sister is the best! 

Malin is a master sitter, and can get herself around by rolling, sitting or scooting backwards.  We've been working on the crawling thing but so far she's only gotten up on all 4s and rocked back & forth.  She just cut her 4th tooth, and she's not a big fan of these 4 teeth in her mouth.  She's been playing with these new things in her mouth and makes a silly bulldog face and has even started grinding them!  She does think they are pretty cool to grind down the massive amounts of food she eats.  Malin will track you down and insist you share whatever it is you're eating with her, and she takes it down no problem, even finishing big sis' left-overs.  We love this about her! 

Malin is a very independent baby, she can sit by herself and play for long periods of time, just looking over to make sure one of her loved ones is nearby from time to time.  She still has a major stranger phobia, and won't let anyone outside of Mommy, Daddy or Nannie hold her for more than 30 seconds before she starts crying.  She's become more vocal and has a set of lungs on her!  At her first Husky football game last weekend she screamed her lungs out and drew quite a crowd!  (She also gets a ton of attention from those amazing baby blues of hers.  Every where we go I get stopped by people mesmerized by her beautiful eyes).  I also think she is officially saying Mama (Mam, Mam, Mam), but it seems to usually be in her highchair, so it's probably more of "Yum, yum!" :)  Nana recently taught her patty-cake so now she thinks she's pretty cool clapping.

She is such a good-natured, even-keeled little girl.  She's also quite a cuddler.  She greets us in the morning and when we return from work with the best snuggles as she sucks her thumb.  She's been such an easy transition into our little family, and we couldn't be more proud to be her parents.

7 Months

Our sweet little MaeMae is now on the downward slide to turning 1. :(  7 months old, and she's getting so cute & so fun.  We're loving every second of this sweet little girl.  She is such a breath of fresh air.  Full of smiles and now a toothy smile!  Malin's first tooth cut when Mommy & Daddy were gone on our anniversary weekend and she was at Nanie & Opie's for her first nights away.  (of course!)  Nana thought it was a cold but when I picked her up, I noticed the sharp corner poking out.  2 days later she cut the 2nd bottom tooth.  I love her little grin now, and we sure can get some amazing laughs out of her.

Malin is a fantastic eater, in fact, she's been eating some of Avery's meals that she refuses to eat!  The only time she ever gets upset is if she's hungry of you've just pulled something out of her mouth.  She adores her big sister, and even though Avery plays full on tackle with her (pushing her over and tackling her) she loves it and thinks big sis is the coolest thing ever. 

Big sis has taught her some naughty tricks too, like screaming at the top of her lungs, just for fun.  (Just recently Malin did this in a dressing room.  So loud.  Avery says "holy sh!t."  Ooops, potty mouth.)  She loves to stand up, her favorite spot is on the couch, looking out the window.  She's made moves toward crawling but for now just skoots herself around in a circle.  She has completely mastered sitting up... well, until Avery comes charging at her.

We have fallen madly in love with this amazing baby.

June Catch-Up

We started June with Auntie KK's birthday!  Avery was super excited (she's developed a new love for her Cali Auntie) and took cardboard KK all around the house singing Happy Birthday to her.  Avery even sang happy birthday to KK on the phone.

We got the boat on the lake for the summer and got some weekends in.  Malin is a good little boater just like her sister.

We celebrated Father's Day with 2 of the best Dads I know!  Dad & Andy celebrated the best way they know how: a steak off!  Those were the biggest steaks I've ever seen.  Andy polished his off.

 Malin got to eat food!  She is a great eater and loved the avocado we gave her.

Avery went to her friend Vail's Cinderella party all dressed up for the occasion.

 

And then went to Olympia for cousin Nolan's 3rd birthday party.  So much fun playing outside & in the pool with the family. 

Malin got in on the pool action too.

And we finished the month off with a Mariner's Diamond Club game with our buddies, the Kearns - kidless!  Di & Jenn had ALOT of fun! ;)  Di's sweet Mommy and friends watch the 3 girls for us, they had a great time too.

And the next weekend went to the M's game Diamond Club with our friends the Schmitz'!

1/2 Year Old!

Our sweet little MaeMae is 6 months old today! (Also Christmas in July).  Life in the Hunt house has calmed down in the last few months and we've been able to just enjoy our family. And we are taking in every single moment of our little cuties!

Malin has truly been a breath of fresh air to our sometimes crazy family. She is so even-tempered and mellow. She really only cries when she's tired or scared that one of her 3 core caretakers (Mommy, Daddy or Nanie) aren't around. She gives the best cuddles and so much love. None of us can compete with her love for her big sister though. Malin thinks Avery is the coolest thing on the planet and admires her so much. It makes my heart melt.

Malin is growing at about the same rate as her big sis did. We'll get her stats next week after her 6 month hip check- fingers crossed that all is well! She is a GREAT eater which is so refreshing since Avery is not a fan of food. She has had a while line up of veggies and gobbles them down. She's mastered rolling over and now does it proudly for Mommy & Daddy. She's just about got the sitting up thing down too. She has officially been in her crib for 2 weeks and is sleeping swaddled through the night. I'm doing all I can to keep her little, she may get swaddled into high school. :)
